Orange cloud flash
Soft mauve white
Crocked lines
Diamond white

Jagged still frames on
Blackout night

Energised electric sky
Reflected in my wide stare eye
With respect I watch her strike
With her neon cordless knife

The sea lay
Scattered with moving light
Vibrating in all directions
Aimlessly swarming
In its own eternal pattern

Like a million gold watches, she thought
Catching the light
Catching my eye
A reminder of this fortune
This moment of precious time

An eighteen carat link
In the chain of life

Kitten

Kitten licks her claws
No longer smitten
She washed her coat
A hundred times, since he stroked her

In her hair she wears diamonds
In her eyes
Light reflects the sky

Kitten flicks her ears
